The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced that a total of 1,378,048 candidates registered for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

This figure includes over 700,000 female candidates, reflecting a significant and commendable participation of girls in the examination.

The Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, who made the disclosure, assured that the results of the 2026 SSCE are expected to be released in the first week of September 2026 or earlier.

NECO remains committed to conducting credible, timely, and internationally acceptable examinations.

Candidates, parents, and schools are advised to continue monitoring official NECO channels for further updates.
