Accelerated Teacher Professional Pathway (ATPP)

*📢 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SCHOOL OWNERS AND TEACHERS*

The Federal Government in partnership with National Teachers Institute (NTI) and Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) has introduced the Accelerated Teacher Professional Pathway (ATPP) to provide an opportunity for teachers who are already teaching but do not yet have professional teaching qualifications to develop professionally and become certified teachers without leaving their classroom.

ATPP goes beyond training. It is designed to strengthen teacher competence, promote professional standards, support quality assurance and ultimately contribute to better learning outcomes for learners across Nigeria.

*Who can apply? 👇🏽*
Current serving teachers (with minimum 24 months experience), including:
• BSc, HND, ND or OND holders with non-education degree
• Teachers in public (state) and private (non-state) schools
• Educators working across ECCDE, primary, secondary, TVET and other educational settings

The ATPP offers two pathways:

🎓 ATPP Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) – for eligible graduates (BSc. & HND) who already hold a university degree but do not have a professional teaching qualification.

📚 ATPP Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) – for eligible teachers who require a professional teaching qualification at the diploma level (ND & OND).

Applications for Cohort 1 is now open and closes *18 September 2026*
