Steps for registration for PQE

1. Go to

2. Read the instructions and go to the open examination
3. Select PQE and start registration — choose the examination, then continue
4. Fill in your details. Enter your name exactly as it appears on your NIN — your NIN and date of birth are verified against NIMC, and a name mismatch will stop your registration. You will not be asked to choose a category.
5. Enter your current employment details
6. Upload your qualification documents and submit them for review and verification
7. Sign in any time with your email — a 6-digit code is sent to you. Once inside, you can set a 4-digit PIN so you don't need the emailed code next time.
8. Once your qualification is verified, proceed to payment. Your fee is based on the highest qualification TRCN verifies.
9. A Remita RRR is generated — make payment. Your exam number is issued once payment is confirmed.
10. Print your exam slip.

Steps for registration for certificate and license for those who have sat for and passed PQE

Before you start: your NIN, your date of birth as recorded at NIMC, and access to your email.
1. Visit

2. Click View your exam results
3. Current batch — Check current result → enter your details → Check result
Older batches — Claim past result → enter your details → Find profile
4. Older results only: verify your identity with your NIN and date of birth, enter the 6-digit code sent to your email, then set a password. Upload a supporting document if you're asked to.
5. Submit your qualifications for verification if prompted. Your TRCN category comes from admin-verified qualifications — until one is verified, the certificate option will not appear.
6. Click Apply for your certificate. If asked, enter your NIN and date of birth to verify with NIMC.
7. Pay the certificate and licence fee.
8. You'll get an email with a link to set your teacher portal password — it works for 72 hours. If it expires or doesn't work, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page. If you already have a portal password, no link is sent — just sign in.
9. Sign in and download your certificate and licence from your dashboard.

Steps for Upgrading your category. (You need at least one verified qualification before you can upgrade. If yours is still pending, wait for it to be verified first).

1. Log in at

2. Go to Profile → Qualification 3. Click Upgrade category
4. Select and upload your higher qualifications (only levels above your current category are shown)
5. Submit — you'll be taken to the upgrade fee
6. Pay the upgrade fee
7. TRCN verifies the document. Once approved, your category updates automatically and appears on your licence — you don't need to add the qualification again.

Steps for Onboarding for those with physical TRCN certificate and valid license

The actual flow
1. Go to

2. Choose a lookup method — there are four, not just registration number:
- Registration number (e.g. DT/R/00719) — the default
- Certificate number (e.g. 000715787) — on the printed certificate
- NIN (11 digits)
- Name + date of birth — "for older paper records"
3. Click Look up my record
4. Verify your identity — enter NIN and date of birth, which must match NIMC records
5. Check your email — a verification code is sent, entered on the next screen
6. Choose a password and confirm it
7. Depending on the match, you may be routed to upload supporting evidence, or to under review if TRCN needs to check it manually
