Welcome to 100 Level as an Undergraduate Student

*Welcome to 100 Level For those resuming September, October or November πŸŽ‰*

First year is exciting + overwhelming. If you get these right now, you’ll thank yourself in 400, 500 and 600 level depending when you will finish

Here are 7 things to note as a 100 level student entering university this year:

*1. Academics*
- *CGPA starts from day 1*. Those "small" 2-unit courses will carry you later. Don’t play with them.
- *Attend lectures*. Even if the lecturer doesn’t take attendance. What they say in class = 70% of exam questions.
- *Read to understand, not to cram*. University questions test application.

2. People & Character
- *Choose your circle wisely*. Your 5 closest friends will shape your grades, habits, and future.
- *Respect lecturers, seniors, and cleaners*. You never know who will help you later.
- *Avoid cultism, exam malpractice, and fraud*. One mistake can end your journey.

3. Money & Life Skills
- *Budget*. School fees, handouts, data, food. Learn to track it now.
- *Learn a skill alongside your course*: writing, design, coding, trading, content creation. Degree + Skill = Safety.

*4. Opportunities*
- *Join 1-2 associations/clubs max*. Departmental, fellowship, professional.
- *Ask questions*. Meet your HOD, course adviser, and seniors in your department. They have the "expo" you actually need.

*5. Mindset*
- *You’re not in secondary school anymore*. No one will chase you to read.
- *It’s a marathon, not a sprint*. Burnout in 100 level is real. Rest, pray, and stay consistent.

6.Documents
.From when you were registering for utme, screening/post utme result, Neco result waec result, letter of attestation, birth certificate, local government if identification, utme result, task clearance (in some uni, poly or college), admission letter from jamb and school, acceptance fee, medical fee and the rest registration you will do till your final year
PLEASE AND PLEASE KEEP YOUR DOCUMENTS AND HAVE PHOTOCOPY OF ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS. It will save you stress in your final year for clearance

7. Missing Result or Script
. If paraventure you fall in these category start immediately, some will later find the script while some will have to register the course again next session falling under the semester he or she had the issue.
Exanple if Record A had a missing result in 200 level first semester and after all it wasn't found.
Record A will have to wait till 300 level first semester before he or she can register it and sit for the exam.

Note:
πŸ“ŒMove with your mates as you enter the next level.

πŸ“ŒAvoid Resit or Carry Over

πŸ“ŒStudy and Read well, Work smartly.

πŸ“ŒRead the question before you attempt any question.

πŸ“ŒKnow what works for you if you are a night reader do it if you are a day reader do it, don't copy your friend but have friends who push you to read, pray.

πŸ“ŒAsk reasonable questions before your speak

πŸ“ŒKnow how to balance between Academics, Religious activities, School activities and others it will help you.

πŸ“ŒStart reading on time don't wait till exam if you know you can't, some are very vast in 2 weeks to exam they will cover all and still pass

*Golden rule*: _Be known for 3 things: Your character, Your grades, and Your skill._

6 THINGS YOU MUST DO IMMEDIATELY YOU ENTER THE UNIVERSITY πŸŽ“

The first few weeks in the university can determine how the rest of your academic journey turns out.

Many students waste their first semester because they don't know what to do or who to ask.

If you've just gained admission, here are six things you should do immediately.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

1. KNOW YOUR DEPARTMENT AND FACULTY 🏫

Don't be the student who gets lost every week.

Locate your department, faculty, lecture halls, library, and other important offices as early as possible.

Knowing your environment will save you time and unnecessary stress.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

2. MAKE FRIENDS WITH SERIOUS STUDENTS 🀝

Your friends will influence your habits more than you realize.

Associate with students who attend lectures, submit assignments on time, and take their studies seriously.

A good friend can motivate you to succeed, while the wrong one can distract you from your goals.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

3. SAVE IMPORTANT ACADEMIC INFORMATION πŸ“…

Download or take screenshots of your academic calendar, lecture timetable, examination timetable, and school portal details.

Many students miss important deadlines simply because they weren't informed.

Stay organized from your first day.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

4. JOIN A READING GROUP πŸ“š

Reading with disciplined classmates can improve your understanding and keep you accountable.

A good reading group exposes you to different ideas, helps you prepare for tests, and makes studying less stressful.

Choose a group that studiesβ€”not one that spends more time chatting than reading.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

5. BUILD GOOD HABITS BEFORE BAD ONES FIND YOU 🌱

University gives you a lot of freedom.

Use that freedom wisely.

Develop the habit of reading consistently, eating well, attending lectures, and managing your time.

Remember:

Good habits are easier to build than bad habits are to break.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

6. UNDERSTAND YOUR CGPA AND CHOOSE YOUR ROOMMATE WISELY πŸ“–πŸ

From your first semester, learn how your CGPA is calculated.

When you understand how grades affect your final result, you'll take every course seriously.

Also, don't rush into sharing a room with just anyone.

Ask questions about your prospective roommate's lifestyle, cleanliness, study habits, and character.

A good roommate can make university life enjoyable, while the wrong one can make every semester unnecessarily stressful.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

THE BOTTOM LINE

Your first semester is more important than many students realize.

The decisions you make nowβ€”your friends, habits, study routine, and environmentβ€”can shape the rest of your university journey.

Start well, stay focused, and finish strong.
