Based on my academic knowledge and years of collective experience, I believe education is a systematic, continuous, innovative and dynamic process by which a society is developed through exposing and inculcating in both young and old members values with which they apply for the development of the society. One of my reasons for this submission is that, we have more jobless youths and adults with less focus in our society where there are abundant resources and opportunities all around us. Our people are more orderly when they travel abroad than when in Nigeria. Does it make sense for someone to spend huge funds and time to attend university only for that same person to come back and learn catering, trade or tailoring. Such a person could just learn that after primary or secondary school and then use the school expenses to equip his or her business. Please, I'm not saying people should not go to higher institutions. Admission should be based on the importance of the course to the student and the society not just for certification only. Adequate counselling and group guidance should be the reason why learners are placed in various classes from primary, secondary and higher institutions of learning. University graduates should not be rated over others who did not attend or did not finish even secondary schools but are serious and successful in their various occupations and trades in the society. I think our society has put too many values on paper certificates than it's worth. I stand to be corrected.
